Day Without Shoes!

Today, the children are participating in "TOMS: One Day Without Shoes," in order to bring awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life, by taking off our own. Why shoes? In developing countries, millions of children grow up without shoes and are at risk of injury and disease. Shoes are a critical first step toward health and access to education. Today provides a great learning experience for all of the children at Brighton!

4th Annual Spring Festival this Saturday, April 13th, 2013!!

Our 4th annual Spring Festival is this Saturday, April 13th, from 10am-12noon!! We will have inflatables, Kona Ice snow cones, carnival games, cupcake walks, raffles, silent auctions & tons of fun!! Please make plans to attend & invite your friends & family as well. Everyone is welcome whether you are a student here or not!! See you all on Saturday!!

National Pig Day!

National Pig Day is an event held annually on March 1 in the United States to celebrate the pig. The holiday celebration was started in 1972 by sisters Ellen Stanley, a teacher in Lubbock, Texas, and Mary Lynne Rave of Beaufort, North Carolina. The purpose of National Pig Day is "to accord the pig its rightful, though generally unrecognized, place as one of man's most intellectual and domesticated animals." The children had a blast making fun crafts to celebrate National Pig Day today at Brighton!

International Polar Bear Day!

Today is International Polar Bear Day! One of our Pre-K classes measured out in four year olds how tall a polar bear is....it takes 2 1/2 of our students to be the height of a polar bear..10 feet tall, which is much taller than our Director, Ms. Leela! They all laid down on the floor to compare the difference of a person with a polar bear. Great hands on learning for the children!

Go Texan Day & George Washington's Birthday!

Today was a fun day at Brighton! The children celebrated George Washington's birthday and dressed in their best western wear for Go Texan Day!!
